Wearable Art

Dutch designer and fine artist Ingeborg Steenhorst creates sustainable upcycled couture with a conscience; she makes luxurious one-off wearable art from recycled and unusual materials, fabrics and vintage garments. She alters, re-designs and re-dyes vintage garments and using them as 'blanc canvas', she adds unique hand painted structures, drawings, textile appliqué, embellishments and hand embroidery. She often also adds silk screen prints of her photography art on to the garments.
