Den Hekse Weeg - The Witches Road

In Ingeborg's second photobook, mysticism, art, and local natural history merge, viewed through the lens of the witch archetype. 

During the winter of 2023, Limburg artists and witch sisters Kim Hotterbeekx and Rafke Hotterbeekx are portrayed by photographer Ingeborg Steenhorst against the backdrop of the Savelsbos—a landscape where nature, history, and symbolism intersect.

While following the  two sisters through the northern Savelsbos forest, Ingeborg discovered the beauty of this fairytale-like area: poetic vistas, mythical places, and unique geological monuments. While photographing them, the idea arose to create a photo book of their journey and also document a walking route, so you can experience this magical landscape for yourself.
