Den Hekse Weeg (The Witches Road) a multi disciplinary art project, serves as an homage to free-spirited, creative women and their deep connection to nature, using the archetype of the witch as its central theme.

WATERDRAGEN 

Waterdragen (water carrying) is a multidisciplinary art project telling stories about the healing power of water. The project is an ode to nature and highlights the essential role of natural water sources for both humans and nature. In May 2025, Steenhorst together with guestartist Kim Hotterbeekx 

presented the photoseries and book during the exhibition "WATER DRAGEN"  , at the De Melkfabriek art space in 's-Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands.

SAGE DER MEINWEG

Sage der Meinweg (Saga of the Meinweg) is a visual story in which Steenhorst brings nature spirits, such as elves and nymphs, to life in De Meinweg National Park in Limburg, the Netherlands.  Her message: The shy mythical creatures symbolically "step out of the shadows" to draw attention to the fragile balance of nature and the impact of climate change.  Ingeborg  designs the costumes herself and writes the accompanying story and poems.

THE FISHERMAN BRIDE

'The Fishermans Wife' photo series shows a young Dutch woman, who on a windy morning, is standing on the shore of the Noordoostpolder. While looking out over the water of the 'Ijsselmeer', her eyes follow the horizon, searching for the familiar silhouette of  fishing boats. Her beloved, an accomplished fisherman, has spent his entire life on the North Sea, as had his father and grandfather before him. But times are changing...

PAINTED BODIES

The conceptual photoseries 'Painted Bodies'  is an on going project. The photographs are mainly created in a studio setting because of their intens bodypainting. In these images she combines all her creative talents as visual artist, photographer, costume designer and art director. The bodypainting is also done by the artist herself.
