The 'Isis' tiara is part of the art collection 'Royals' by costume designer and visual artist Ingeborg Steenhorst. The collection features headdress designs inspired by extraordinary characters and royal women from the past, present and realm of fiction. Each design is delicate and handmade. This headpiece is inspired by Isis, the Egyptian mother goddess whose name was described with the hieroglyph that was also common for 'throne'. Isis was the protector of mothers and children and the guardian of the family. Originally she was represented as a woman alone or with the infant Horus at her breast. Later she was more and more represented as a cow, a woman with a cow's head or with a hairdo decorated with horns.

The headdress bears the eponymous title 'Isis'. It is a headdress with real rooster feathers, mother-of-pearl shells, dried pacific fruits, silk flowers, wood chips and fallow deer horns. The feathers in the headdress form a hairdo from which the horns emerge.
